Butcher Works, Sheffield

AWARD WINNING INTERIORS – THE BUTCHER WORKS

This redevelopment project saw a Grade II listed derelict cutlery factory turned into 50 unique apartments and commercial premises.

The delicate nature of the building made this a challenging and difficult project. But it was a big success. Butcher Works has had a massive impact on Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter. It has also been used as a backdrop for several television dramas, including Micawber and Silent Witness, and was shortlisted in the Best Building category at the prestigious Sheffield Design Award.

CASTLE COLLEGE – GROUNDBREAKING LEARNING

This was a groundbreaking project to create one of the UK’s most modern learning environments in the heart of Sheffield.
The result was an eight-storey city-centre tower that looks as attractive outside as it does inside.

Our part in the project lasted twelve months and was completed on time and on budget. We overcame several challenges during the build. The acoustic requirements were particularly demanding because of the exposed soffits. To get around the problem we used what is known as acoustic plaster tiled bulkheads.
